I was there when Larry Studnicky (aka: "Cold Beer & Broads") first tried to buy his way into the music industry in the early 90s. His connections and musical dreams had him paying a lot of high priced musicians to help him make an album— Nicky Hopkins, Richie Sambora, Mick Taylor and Cher! Picture all these celebrities in a mafia-owned recording studio somewhere in the middle of New Jersey eating, drinking, singing and partying on Larry's tab. I'll never forget what he told me that night, "Kotas..." he said, "This is probably the dumbest thing I ever did in my life." Of course, the album never saw the light of day. But 20 years later, with the help of the internet, Larry is back with this country-rock Christmas song leftover from the session. And of course, I'm once again in the mix.
