Taylor Swift Instagram Shot -- Wearing KK designed Fems Shirt

Holy Shit, someone posted these Taylor Swift photos on Instagram wearing a shirt with a design that I did many years ago for the iconic Buffalo, NY punk-rock band - The Fems! Woah!

All I can say is, Taylor, you have extremely eclectic taste and the classic KK-art looks awesome on you. Not to mention, the design matches your lipstick!

Seriously, Taylor, give me a call... - KK

Cold Beer & Broads "Summer Girl"--Moving Up the Charts

I've been doing art, packaging and promotion for the oddly-named country-pop band Cold Beer & Broads for several years now and it looks like their new release Summer Girl, strangely enough, is moving up the charts with a bullet.
Cold Beer & Broads is a loosely-knit group of musicians, under the direction of the bizzarro songwriting attorney Larry Studnicky (pictured below at the shoot for the Summer Girl video.)  Collectively and individually, they have worked with such legendary artists as Suge Knight (Death Row Records), Fred Schneider (the B-52’s), Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Cher and Nicky Hopkins (The Rolling Stones.)
The song Summer Girl features Mr. Studnicky channeling Jimmy Buffet, The Beach Boys and possibly even Martin Denny in a calypso-themed, down-on-his-luck sob-story of a sad-sack geezer being played by a blonde gold-digger. With deadpan delivery, Larry sings...
... she went to the ladies room,
and didn’t come back soon,
So I looked for her all over the bar.
I ran outside to fetch her,
But I never did catch her,
’cause she’d taken the keys to my car.

Check out the premiere of Cold Beer & Broads' new track “Summer Girl.”

Kiss Vs Monsters Game

I recently teamed up with Universal Music and Nelson Wong Creative Consulting to create a monster-iffic game for Kiss. The KISS Monster campaign consisted of multiple viral marketing components that drove awareness and pre-release sales in the months leading up to the album launch. Virals included a twitter campaign that incentivized fans to “tweet” announcements about the new album, in doing so they qualified for the opportunity to win tickets and other prizes. Other components included pre-order sweepstakes and a stand-alone flash game that served as a platform to debut the band’s new singles. Game Demo: http://bigblue8.com/KISSVsMonsters

Cold Beer & Broads- Get Me Home By Christmas Eve

I was there when Larry Studnicky (aka: "Cold Beer & Broads") first tried to buy his way into the music industry in the early 90s.  His connections and musical dreams had him paying a lot of high priced musicians to help him make an album— Nicky Hopkins, Richie Sambora, Mick Taylor and Cher! Picture all these celebrities in a mafia-owned recording studio somewhere in the middle of New Jersey eating, drinking, singing and partying on Larry's tab. I'll never forget what he told me that night, "Kotas..." he said, "This is probably the dumbest thing I ever did in my life." Of course, the album never saw the light of day. But 20 years later, with the help of the internet, Larry is back with this country-rock Christmas song leftover from the session. And of course, I'm once again in the mix.  To read more about this story behind this amazing song, go to this link.
